Seborrhea Capitis

• Antifungal shampoos include selenium sulfide 2.5%, ketoconazole 2%, or ciclopirox 1% shampoo.
• The shampoo should be left on for five to ten minutes before rinsing off.
• The medicated shampoo can be used daily or at least two or three times per week for several weeks, until remission is achieved.
• Subsequently, the use of the medicated shampoo once a week may be helpful to prevent relapse.
• Some patients complain of dryness of the hair, which can be treated with an over-the-counter conditioner.
